What will I learn?
JUMBO Academy participants can expect to achieve the following after completing the JUMBO Work Experience Programme:
- Skill Development: Acquire and improve practical skills relevant to the F&B industry.
- Industry Exposure: Have a broadened understanding of the F&B sector through exposure to real-life work scenarios by observing and engaging with industry professionals.
- Career Exploration: Understand and explore various career paths within the F&B industry, gaining insights into different roles and responsibilities.
- Workplace Readiness: Develop a better understanding of workplace expectations and professional conduct, and gain the ability to adapt to the dynamics of the F&B industry, contributing to their overall readiness for future employment.
- Certification: Upon successful completion of the 5-day WEP, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion*.
Day 1: Orientation & Skills Development Workshops

- Setting tables with finesse

Day 2 to Day 5: Job Shadowing
Programme Day / Time / Venue
- Time: 10:30am – 5:00pm (6.5 hours/day)
- Venue: Assigned JUMBO Group outlet
Programme outline

- Introduction to mentor and restaurant orientation
- Staff lunch
- Roll call
- Observe and learn day-to-day tasks
- Participants will be paired with professionals
- Engage in conversations to gain insights
- Opportunities to practise and apply the newly acquired skills
- Mentors will guide and support throughout the Programme

- Observe and learn about day-to-day tasks & responsibilities

- Awarding of Certificate of Completion (Day 5 only)

Who should attend?
- Individuals in the midst of a mid-career transition looking to re-enter the workforce, or
- Any individuals who are interested to learn more about the F&B Industry.
The JUMBO Work Experience Programme is a 5-day programme crafted to give participants hands-on work experience and exposure to the F&B industry, enabling them to learn and practise crucial skills and explore potential career avenues.
The programme starts with a structured one-day training and skills development workshop. Over the next four days, participants will engage in real-life work experiences mentored by industry experts at one of JUMBO Group’s outlets. This is a valuable opportunity for participants to gain practical insights through hands-on activities and interactions with working professionals. Participants will also be paid an hourly salary* for the four days of experiential learning.
Programme Requirements and Guidelines:
- Each workshop requires at least 5 pax to start. Maximum 12 pax per session.
- Open to individuals 18 years and above.
- Participants should adhere to a professional dress code during the programme.
- Participants are expected to demonstrate punctuality, respect, and a positive attitude throughout the programme.
*Special conditions:
- Hourly allowance for Days 2 to 5 of job-shadowing:
Participants will be paid a job-shadowing allowance of $14 per hour (including meal breaks). - Issuance of Certificate:
Participants will receive feedback on their performance during the job-shadowing engagements throughout the WEP. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion only if they meet 100% attendance.
Cost Fee: $80 per pax (before prevailing GST.)
